Pastor Tunde Oronti

Pastor Tunde Oronti was born in Ikenne, Nigeria (a country in West Africa) in 1955. He graduated from University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1978 and worked in his family’s business for 11 years after graduation. In 1996 he became certified as a High Pastor OrontiSchool Science teacher in Lincoln University, Pennsylvania. Then in 2002 he obtained a double master’s in Reading Specialist/Special Education from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and finally obtained his K-12 principal’s certification from California University of Pennsylvania in 2007.
In 1984, He joined the Foursquare Gospel Church Oke Bola, Ibadan, Oyo state Nigeria and gave his life to Christ on the 31st of December, 1984. Tunde’s fast spiritual growth in the Lord motivated the Pastor, Rev. Oshibanjo to nominate him to the position of Head Usher of Oke Bola branch of Foursqure Gospel Church in 1986 and he also became a member of the Church Ruling council between 1986 and 1993. He was nominated to be the Chairman of the District Convention Committee of Foursquare Gospel Chruch, Oyo state in 1991 when there was a major crisis due to a nation wide fuel scarcity that crippled the economy of the whole country of Nigeria for almost one month.

In 1994, Pastor Oronti and his family volunteered to start a branch of Foursquare Gospel Church in Mokola, Ibadan, Nigeria. He became the assistant pastor to a full time Foursquare pastor until June 1995 when the family had to relocate to the United States.
In August of 1995, Pastor Oronti joined the Living Word Church under the able leadership of Pastor Don Hadley and he’s been an active member since then. Pastor Oronti was nominated to be the church Elder in 1997 and he acted in various capacities as Committee member in the leadership team, Sunday school director, Usher trainer,  monthly night vigil coordinator to mention a few.

In the year 2000, Pastor Oronti and his wife, Pastor Ayotola Oronti originated the “Joy Splash Annual Youth Vacation Program”. A program meant to focus on hunting for talents among young people and encouraging them as much as possible to use those talents for the furtherance of the work of God and the expansion of His kingdom in these last days. On the 26th of March, 2010, Pastor Oronti (then Elder Oronti) heard from God that within the next 5 years he will become a pastor. However it was not clarified where this calling will be located and substantiated. Furthermore God gave him 5 words/phrases which all start with the letter “F”; (1)Fifty Five, (2) faithfulness required, (3) favor unmerited, (4) fruitfulness guaranteed and   (5) five years.
According to the interpretation of the Holy Spirit, The 5 things above boiled down to God telling Pastor Oronti, “Now, you are 55 years of age. If you are faithful, you will earn my unmerited favor. The fruit of all the labor of love you have shown in the past will start to manifest and in five years you will see what the Lord can do from a small beginning” Finally on the 2nd of September, 2011, the promise of God to Pastor Oronti became a reality when his Pastor at that time, Pat Andreoli handed over the mantle and the responsibility of pastoring Living Word Church, Philadelphia to him.   Pastor Babatunde Oronti is married to Pastor Mrs. Ayotola Oronti. They are blessed with 3 children; Omorinsola, Abisola and Kolade.

He was ordained as Pastor together with his wife, Pastor Ayotola, in Maryland at the inauguration of Risen Christ Gospel Mission.

Since the work of the ministry started on September 11, 2011, God had been showing Pastor and Pastor Mrs. Oronti that He is faithful to the pastoral calling of March 26, 2010 on their lives. The congregation has started to experience a steady increase in numerical growth and even spiritual growth as can be discerned from the improvement in number of midweek program attendees.

Two things are certain according to the Word of God, He (the Lord) has built His church and the gates of hell will not prevail. (Mathew 16:18). Secondly, He (the Lord) who started this work is more than able to complete it in Christ. Amen. (Philippians 1:6)
